Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR)

WORKING with THE BODY and HELD EMOTIONS

The intention of a Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) session is to unravel the root of pain and promote a sense of well-being. Systemic tightness can be the source of chronic pain caused by physical trauma, injuries, surgeries, lack of movement, or held emotions in the body. MFR opens the body slowly using gentle pressure inviting the muscles, fascia, and tension to let go.

An MFR session consists of a combination of techniques with MFR being the prominent one. Your body communicates which technique or combination of techniques it needs in order to release and often the combination changes as the body opens. Techniques commonly used are Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure, Body Mobilization, Deep Stretching, and Energy Balancing.

MFR releases restrictions, adhesions and tightness in the connective tissue that build in the body over time. Along with the physical, there can be an emotional/energetic release during or after the session. Emotions can be contributing to the tightness in our body. Often, but not always, there is an energetic holding in the tight muscles related to emotions resulting in physical discomfort. This emotional/energetic release can be a deep healing for the body resulting in a feeling of calm, grounded connection to self, and a sense of well-being. This feeling of relief is the body letting go of past difficulties that are held in the muscles.
